Allen James Brooks, Sr.

Allen James Brooks, Sr., age 75, of Versailles, Illinois passed away at 6:49 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at his residence.

He was born March 25, 1942 in Monmouth, Illinois the son of Susie Hester.

Mr. Brooks was a traveler with carnivals and had also worked as a truck driver for several years.

He had attended the Versailles Christian Church and always enjoyed fishing, playing his guitar and was a fan of Johnny Cash.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews and his good friend and caretaker, Lori Murray of Rushville, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by 1 son Allen James Brooks, Jr.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017 in the Hall Cemetery south of Versailles, Illinois with Rev. Mike Smith officiating.

There will be no visitation.
