Earl Wilson

Earl Wilbur Wilson, age 92, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the Anam Glen Assisted Living & Memory Care in Rockford, Illinois.

He was born February 15, 1925 in Rushville, Illinois the son of Earl W. and Nellie Morrill Wilson.  He married Grace Haas on August 17, 1952 in Mt. Sterling and she preceded him in death on January 24, 1994.

Mr. Wilson was a self-employed bricklayer.

He graduated from Mt. Sterling High School class of 1947 and then attended Culver Stockton College in Canton, Missouri.

Mr. Wilson was a veteran of World War II having served his country in the United States Navy.

Survivors include 2 children Earl “Chip” Wilson of Rockford, Illinois and Deon Lynn Bell of Westford, Massachusetts.  4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother Donald Lee Wilson and 2 sisters Joy Howard and Mary Shields.

Per his request cremation will be accorded and there will be no services.

Memorials are suggested to Brown County Against Cancer and may be left at the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling.
