Edna Mason Obituary

Edna June (Logsdon) Mason, age 97, of St. Charles, Missouri and formerly of Versailles, Illinois, Quincy, Illinois, Fort Myers, Florida and Henderson, Kentucky, passed away at 12:40 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Mt. Carmel Senior Living in St. Charles.

She was born June 26, 1920 in Versailles, Illinois the daughters of Ernie and Hallie VanDeventer Logsdon.  She married Waldo Mason on June 25, 1941 in Springfield, Illinois and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include two children, Betty Mason Hall of Canton, Georgia and Sharon Mason Musgrove of St. Charles, Missouri.  Grandchildren Brian Schrader (Kolleen) DeKalb, Illinois, Kimberly Schrader (Rosie) of Modesto, California, Jacqueline Walker of St. Paul, Missouri, Tim Hall (Nikki) of Cumming, Georgia and Jill Ryan (Todd) of St. Charles, Missouri.  Great grandchildren Ashley Schrader (Dan) of Chicago, Illinois, Ian Fortier of St. Charles, Missouri, Nick Schrader of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, Kelsey Schrader of Fayette, Arkansas, Hayden and Lauren Hall of Cummings, Georgia. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Waldo Mason and 1 brother Dale Logsdon.

Edna graduated from Versailles High School with the class of 1938 and attended her 77th Versailles all school reunion on June 20, 2015. 

Edna and Waldo owned and operated Wally’s Café in Hannibal, Missouri and Mason’s gill in Quincy, Illinois retiring to Fort Myers, Florida in 1981.  She was a member of the St. Charles Christian Church and was a devoted disciple of Christ. 

Cremation rites were accorded and private burial was held in the Versailles West Side Cemetery in Versailles, Illinois.

She will be missed by all.
