Jewel Elizabeth “Bettie” Krohe, age 93, of Beardstown, Illinois passed away at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Heritage Health in Beardstown, Illinois.
She was born December 6, 1924 in Mason County, Illinois the daughter of Theodore R. and Rhoda E. Jockish Hamblin. She married Oliver Andrew Krohe on August 12, 1943 in Corvallis, Oregon and he preceded her in death on January 2, 2007.
Mrs. Krohe was a homemaker and had also worked as a nurse’s assistant for Beardstown Hospital for over 17 years.
She was a member of the Beardstown Church of the Nazarene. Bettie always enjoyed reading and baking and was known for her pies and sugar cookies, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include 8 children Janet Spears of Beardstown, Illinois, Carol Wubker (Charles) of Beardstown, Illinois, Myles Krohe (Deb) of Virginia, Illinois, Allen Krohe (Jackie) of Beardstown, Illinois, Dottie Puckel of Sherman, Illinois, Ann Bell (Tom) of Pawnee, Illinois, Audrey Perry of Beardstown, Illinois and Ken Krohe (Kelly) of Fort Worth, Texas. 1 daughter-in-law Lona Wagner (Bill) of Belleville, Illinois. 1 sister Linda Danner of Astoria, Illinois and 1 sister-in-law Jessie Hamblin of Havana, Illinois. 22 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren also survive along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son David Krohe, 2 sons-in-law Sam Spears and Paul Puckel, 1 granddaughter Pam Krohe, 4 brothers Richard, David, Tom and Jerry Hamblin and 1 sister Rosemary Shirley.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in the Beardstown Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jerimy Wooley and Pastor John Ruppel officiating.
Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Beardstown.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the Beardstown Church of the Nazarene. Friends may also call one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the Church.
Memorials are suggested to the Beardstown Church of the Nazarene.
