Lyle Kemper

Lyle Joseph Kemper, age 59, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 10:36 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Rushville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. 

He was born July 15, 1957 in Rushville, Illinois the son of Hilbert and Helen Marie Dewitt Kemper.

Lyle worked as a diesel mechanic for Dave Clinard Trucking in Mt. Sterling for several years.

He attended St. Mary’s Academy in Mt. Sterling and Brown County High School.

Lyle was of the Catholic faith.  He always enjoyed fishing, hunting and he especially enjoyed mowing lawns and working on lawn mowers.

Survivors include 1 daughter Jessica Long (Nick) of Chapin, Illinois.  2 brothers Robert Kemper (Sandy) of Versailles and Carl Kemper (Debbie) of Mt. Sterling.  4 sisters Pat Lichtsinn (Les) of Timewell, Freda Collins of Mt. Sterling, Ernestine Lichtsinn of Timewell and Pauline Peterson (Bill) of Clayton also survive along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers Herbert and Edward Kemper.

Per his request, cremation will be accorded and there will be no services. 

Private burial of the cremains will be held at a later date in the Mt. Sterling Catholic Cemetery.
