Mary W. Shields

Mary Shields, age 98, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 12:58 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Heritage Health, Therapy and Senior Care in Mt. Sterling. 

She was born April 17, 1919 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois the daughter of Earl W. and Nellie Morrill Wilson.  She married Harold Shields and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Shields served as a nursing home administrator in Jacksonville, Illinois for many years.

Survivors include 1 son Jack Bransom of Lewisberry, Pennsylvania.  1 brother Earl W. Wilson of Mt. Sterling.  2 grandchildren Thomas and Luke Bransom. 4 great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son Donald Shields, 1 grandson Chad Bransom, 1 brother Donald Lee Wilson and 1 sister Joy Howard.

Per her request, private burial will be held in the Hersman Cemetery in Hersman, Illinois.  There will be no services or visitation.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice and may be left at the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling.
