So sorry to hear of Mikes passing. As I mentioned at the Visitation, I first worked with Mike on Lake Michigan, during our consulting days (1977 ish) Setting and pulling gill nets, trawling, and beach seining, and running night plankton nets, I learned so much! Yes the Chicago boys even took the newbie from Missouri to Wisconcin to fish for walleye and muskies!

Dear Gail and Michael,
We so wanted to be there for you at tonight's visitation but couldn't. Our memories of Mike are rich with Boy Scout stories. The two of you provided us strength and understanding during those crazy Boy Scout years and I always appreciated the strong role Mike played in helping our impressionable young boys blossom into honorable men. His love of and respect for nature was not lost on any of us. He was truly God's steward. How fitting that he joined our Lord on the day of His resurrection. Our hearts and prayers are with you. Hugs.

Gail and Michael, we are so very sorry for the loss of Mike. He will be missed in the community and in our church family. We always enjoyed his comments and insight that he would share in Sunday school class. And his sense of humor was the best. Sending prayers for comfort and hugs.

Gail & Michael jr,
My heart is broken and so very sad at the loss of Mike. My first time meeting him was a little scary but I soon gained a good friend! His humor was priceless.
Please know you are both in my thoughts and prayers during and after this very very sad time.

Gail & and young Mike: Our most sincere sympathy is sent in these days of your great loss. Mike was a great friend, and not just because he was a Cub fan. It was because he was a man in harmony with the land, and did everything possible to be a good steward of God's great gift, nature. His sense of humor was on display every morning at coffee at the liar's table -- and he was more truthful than most of us there. He shall certainly be missed. We hold you in our prayers.

My sympathy and condolences go out to the entire Cochran family. I also retired from Fisheries at the end of 2002 after 27 years with the Department. I got to know Mike and he became a good friend. Mike had worked on Lake Michigan for a time as I had during my many years with the IL DNR. We certainly shared quite a few stories about our escapades and I greatly enjoyed his company at our meetings and during our evening 'social time'. He was a hard and dedicated worker and he will be missed.
