Thomas Erik Joseph “Tommy” Hamilton, age 19, of Timewell, Illinois passed away at 2:20 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2017 in rural Pike County near Chambersburg, Illinois.
He was born September 4, 1997 in Quincy, Illinois the son of Michael S. and Angel Hester Hamilton.
Tommy attended St. Mary’s School in Mt. Sterling and graduated from Brown County High School with the class of 2016. He was currently attending Vatterott College in Quincy, Illinois where he was studying to be an electrician. He was also currently working at Dot Foods in Mt. Sterling.
Tommy was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Mt. Sterling. He always enjoyed fishing, riding his four wheeler and hanging out with his many friends.
Tommy was known for his huge mischievous, yet innocent smile. He had a kind word for everyone, and loved with his whole heart. He loved to joke and to make people laugh. Soft spoken, and ever so gentle.
Sometimes the strongest among us are the ones who smile through silent pain, cry behind closed doors, and fight battles nobody knows about.
Survivors include his mother Angel Hamilton (James Kitchell) of Timewell, Illinois. His father Mike Hamilton of Jacksonville, Illinois. 1 brother Ty Hamilton of Timewell, Illinois. 2 half- brothers Clinton and Bradley Hamilton of Pittsfield, Illinois. His maternal grandparents Grace Vose of Chambersburg, Illinois, Phyllis Kitchell and Johnnie and Rita Kitchell all of Mt. Sterling. His paternal grandfather Charles Hamilton of Versailles, Illinois also survives along with several, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Larry Vose and paternal grandmother Phyllis Hamilton.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2017 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Father Steve Thompson and Father Thomas Henseler officiating.
Burial will be in the Mt. Sterling Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services on Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Mary’s School.
