Lloyd L. Toland Date: 2004-06-07 LLOYD TOLAND Peoria, Illinois: Lloyd Lyndle Toland age 83 of Peoria, Illinois and formerly of Pittsfield, Illinois passed away at 8:30 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2004 at his residence in Peoria, Illinois. He was born August 14, 1920 in Pike County, Illinois the son of William D. and Mary E. Rose Toland. He married Roberta A. Waters on July 5, 1947 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois and she survives. Mr. Toland worked for several years as a mechanic for Murphy and Clark Chrysler and Parkway Chrysler Plymouth both in Peoria. He later worked from Bemis Bag Co. in Peoria until retiring in 1984. He attended Pittsfield schools and graduated from Bradley University in Peoria with a degree in engineering. Mr. Toland was a veteran of World War II having served his country in the United States Navy. He attended Dayton Avenue Baptist Church in Peoria and was a volunteer for the SHARE Food Program in Peoria. Mr. Toland always enjoyed fishing, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife Roberta Toland of Peoria, Illinois. 5 sons Roger Toland and his wife Pat of Peoria, Rick Toland of Peoria, Robert Toland and his wife Ella of Wyoming, Illinois, Lyndle Toland and his wife Tami of Peoria and Kenneth Toland and his wife Debbie of Morton, Illinois. 2 daughters Sharon Short and her husband Don of Peoria and Mary Toland of Peoria. 11 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter and 1 brother Carl Toland of Peoria also survives along with 1 sister Naomi Sharp of Waterman, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter, 2 grandchildren, 1 brother and 2 sisters. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2004 in the Woodland Cemetery in Fishhook, Illinois with Rev. Jim Richardson officiating. Military services will be conducted at the graveside. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling.
