Agnes Boylen

Agnes Irene Boylen, age 98, of Timewell, Illinois passed away at 12:21 a.m. on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Heritage Health, Therapy and Senior Care in Mt. Sterling.

She was born December 15, 1919 in Versailles, Illinois the daughter of Harvey Russel and Susie Lydia Turner Jones.  She married Cletus Boylen on January 11, 1945 in Brown County, Illinois and he preceded her in death on April 2, 1987. 

Mrs. Boylen was a homemaker and had attended Council School in Brown County. 

Agnes was a member Holy Family Catholic Church in Mt. Sterling.  She was also a member of Holy Family Alter Society and the Brown County Home Extension.  Agnes always enjoyed helping with the 4H Club and Boy Scouts, cooking and attending her families many activities. 

Survivors include 2 sons Mike Boylen (Carol) of Mt. Sterling and Pat Boylen (Vicki) of Camp Point.  9 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren also survive along with 2 nieces and 1 nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister Alta Ransom.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2018 in the Holy Family Catholic Church in Mt. Sterling with Father Steve Thompson and Father Thomas Henseler officiating.

Burial will be in the Mt. Sterling Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling.  A prayer service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation on Thursday.  Friends may also call from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s School or Heritage Health, Therapy & Senior Care Activity Fund.
