Betty Arlene Reich Krupps was born December 1, 1926 in her country home in Elkhorn Township to Wilma Chamberlain Reich and Marshall Reich.  She attended Gilbirds and Hersman Grade School and graduated from Mt. Sterling High School.  Betty married Alfred (A. J.) Krupps September 15, 1945 at St. Mary’s Church in Mt. Sterling.  She passed away February 28, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center with family by her side. 

She was survived by her children Judy Frasco and husband Lynn, David Krupps, Steve Krupps and Jayne Carlock and husband Mark.   Her grandchildren Beth Frasco Trotter and husband Brad, Dr. Cara Frasco Lai and husband Dr. Nicky, Philip Krupps, wife Erin and son Crew, Drew Carlock and wife Erin and Lauren Noelke and husband Jessie.  Her great grandchildren Jackson, Eva, Maddie and Alyse Trotter, Charlie and Andy Lai, Lily Rose Carlock and Elle Noelke.  Her brother Joe Reich also survives. 

Betty had worked during high school at both Keifer and Kroger grocery stores.  She was a homemaker as well as being employed at the Book Bindery in Jacksonville and worked 10 years at Motorola in Quincy.

She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, playing cards with her friends, walking at the Y, helping to serve funeral dinners, working in her yard and sharing her flowers with family and friends.

Betty was a devoted and loving mother.  She was involved in every aspect of her grandchildren’s activities and enjoyed spending time with family at the farm.  She also enjoyed any opportunity to travel, especially her trips to Hawaii, Canada and France. 

She was preceded in death by her husband A. J., son Donald and two sisters Mary M. Clark and Jean Cisco.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2017 in the Holy Family Catholic Church in Mt. Sterling with Father Steve Thompson officiating.

Burial will be in the Mt. Sterling Catholic Cemetery. 

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling.  A prayer service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.  Friends may also call from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Brown County Against Cancer.
