Fred used to tell our boys how he kept his fishing worms warm in the winter.
Knowing Fred, probably true.

I am going to miss Grandpa Parker so much! He was always filled with so much life and quick with a joke. He was an honorable soldier, man and grandfather who could tell a story like no one else. I am grateful my children, who share not only his blood but also his quick wit and feistiness, got to meet their Great Grandpa Parker and celebrate his 100th birthday with him. He will live on in our hearts. We love you, Grandpa!

I will miss seeing Fred come in Renee's Place for breakfast. I was amazed at him for having such a sharp memory for his age. It truly fascinates me how someone could live past 100 years and still drive a vehicle, and be able to tell you about things and people that happened so long ago. He truly was a nice man, that will be missed by many who knew him. Rest in peace Fred.

My husband, Cletus and I had many long visits with Fred. His home was the Clarence Geisler home and the barn on the alley was Uncle Clarence's machine shop. Diana, I will always remember how kind you were to us when Leon Geisler was a patient at St. John's Hospital for four months back in 1986. I thank you for that. Fred Parker, rest in peace.

Fred was a friend and what my dad would say a good man. He was someone you would
look forward to visiting with when you went to the coffee shop. He had a special place to set. If Fred walked in someone would say here comes Fred and if someone was at that
location they would immediately move. He had earned that much respect. He will be
missed.

Farewell Fred, one of my oldest friends in Brown County (literally). We met when I was doing legal work for you uncle, J. Fred Parker. Your remembrances of old time Brown County were fascinating then, and they were still as clear as crystal forty years later when they brightened many a morning's coffee at the round table. Time spent talking with you were hours that were golden. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

What a long full life Fred had, sad that he is gone, but glad he is resting peacefully now, I hope he's watching lots of ball games and jumping out of his chair cheering when his team wins, I hope there's hedges for him to trim, yards to mow, front porches to sit on with friends and watch the cars go by, and lots of McDonald's with new and old friends waiting to meet him!!!

To Fred's family:

Fred had a tremendous memory about the "old times" surrounding the Brown County community. If you had a question, you simply asked Fred, who in later years responded, "let me think about that a minute." A short time later, Fred gave you the answer. What a life well-spent. To his family, please accept our sincere sympathy and may God bless each of you. Rest in peace Fred, friend and neighbor!
