Grace Capps

Grace Pauline Capps, age 92, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 2:54 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2018 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

She was born September 9, 1925 in Pike County, Illinois the daughter of Merle and Inez Butler Garrett.  She married Jerry Lee Capps on June 1, 1943 in Bowling Green, Missouri and he preceded her in death on January 23, 2005.

Mrs. Capps was a homemaker.  She attended rural Pike County schools.

Survivors include 1 son Terry Capps of Mt. Sterling. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons in infancy, 4 brothers Estel Garrett, Edgar Garrett, Merle Garrett, Jr. and Wayne Garrett, 2 sisters Helen Sneeden and Violet Hastings and 2 half brothers Richard and Roger Hanlin.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2018 in the Versailles West Side Cemetery with Rev. Matt Haberman officiating.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice.
