Leroy Passmore

Leroy Dale Passmore, age 74, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 6:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

He was born May 7, 1942 in Flag, Arkansas the son of Oles and Mattie Delk Passmore.  He married Sharon Kellett on December 1, 1962 in Kahoka, Missouri and she preceded him in death on April 7, 2016.

Leroy worked at Brown County High School in the maintenance department for over 30 years.

He attended Brown County Schools and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Flag, Arkansas.

Leroy always enjoyed gardening, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Survivors include 6 children Kevin (Elly) Passmore of Camp Point, Illinois, Steve Passmore (companion, Bonnie Wellman) of Pittsfield, Illinois, Bob (Angie) Passmore of Springfield, Illinois, Rick (Marie) Passmore of Colchester, Illinois, Mike Passmore and Chris Passmore (companion Mike Renzulli) all of Mt. Sterling.  1 brother Leon Passmore of Rushville, Illinois.  1 sister Frances Collins of Mountainview, Missouri.  19 grandchildren and 5 great grandchild also survive along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2017 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Rev. Aaron Foster officiating.

Burial will be in the Hersman Cemetery in Hersman, Illinois.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
