Margaret Taylor

Margaret Irene Taylor, age 92, a resident of the Golden Good Shepherd Home in Golden, Illinois and formerly of Clayton, Illinois passed away at 1:00 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the nursing home.

She was born February 5, 1926 in Granite City, Illinois the daughter of William Joshua and Delphia Cecelia Ransom Walls.  She married Woodrow Wilson Taylor June 19, 1944 in Good Hope, Illinois and he preceded her in death on April 17, 2012. 

Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker and was of the Christian faith.

Margaret always enjoyed bowling, fishing, quilting, listening to bluegrass music, camping and she especially loved traveling with her family, where she served as her husband’s GPS. 

Survivors include 8 children Wanda Yakes (Paul) of Kewanee, Illinois, William Taylor (Rita), Wilma Swanson (Kenny) and Chet Taylor (Kay) all of Cambridge, Illinois, Edward Taylor (Brenda) of Trussville, Alabama, Sandy True (Randy) of Osco, Illinois, Ruby Anderson (Mark) of Woodhull, Illinois and Robert Taylor (Nellie) of Clayton, Illinois.  1 sister Hazel Coakley of Industry, Illinois.  Several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren also survive. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son Wilson Eugene “Jack” Taylor, 2 grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Saturday, April 21, 2018 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Pastor Matt Haberman officiating.

Burial will be in the Benville Cemetery in Brown County.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
