Marty Patton

Marty Lee Patton, age 49, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 7:27 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville, Illinois.

He was born April 23, 1968 in Jacksonville, Illinois the son of Richard Allen and Rosalie Ann Howard Patton. 

Marty attended grade school in Mt. Sterling and graduated from Bluffs High School with the class of 1986.

He was a member of The Crossing in Mt. Sterling. 

Marty’s greatest joy in life were his two sons and he truly loved watching garden tractor pulls, especially when his son was competing.

Survivors include his parents Richard and Rosalie Patton of Mt. Sterling.  Two sons Breyden and Liam Patton.  1 nephew Jesse Patton (Brandi) of Normal, Illinois.  Two nieces Kari Chin (Daniel) of East Dundee, Illinois and Rachel O’Keefe (Korey) of Delavan, Illinois.  6 great nieces and great nephews also survive along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by two brothers Michael and Mark Patton. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Pastor Ethan Sefton officiating.

Burial will be in the Mounds Cemetery near Timewell, Illinois.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening in the funeral home.  Friends may also call from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to his children’s education fund.
