Mary Ann Jennings

Mary Ann Jennings, age 78, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 1:10 a.m. Sunday, July 15, 2018 at her residence.

She was born December 18, 1939 in Brown County, Illinois the daughter of Harvey and Lois Irene Newenham Butler.  She married Donald E. Jennings on August 24, 1956 in the Mt. Sterling First Baptist Church parsonage and he survives.

Mrs. Jennings was a homemaker.  She attended Hersman grade school and Brown County High School. 

Mrs. Jennings was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Sterling.  Mary Ann always enjoyed collecting Roseville Pottery and was known as an excellent seamstress and a wonderful cook.

Survivors include her husband Donald Jennings of Mt. Sterling.  4 children Beth Kunkel (Charlie Bill) of Hersman, Illinois, Mark Jennings, Sheila Wilson (Mark) and Kim Bowen (Joe) all of Mt. Sterling.  11 grandchildren Ranea Kunkel, Courtney Hollingsworth (Matt), Brooke Cokel (Jerame), Nikki Jennings (Fiancée Luke Gragg), Joshua Jennings (Mikayla), Gavin Jennings, Brenna Pherigo (Bill), Alex Wilson (Maggie Gragg), Megan Kunkel (Nathan), Tyler Bowen (Sara) and Garrett Bowen (Skylar Lancaster).  6 great grandchildren Olivia, Owen and Oliver Cokel, Ruby and Millie Pherigo and Mason Kunkel.  1 brother James Butler (Shirley Ann) of Wayland, Iowa.  1 sister Lila Shoopman (Jerry) of Mt. Sterling also survives along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 daughter in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Rev. Aaron Foster officiating.

Burial will be in the Hersman Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Sterling First Baptist Church or Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.
