Nancy Jo Nash, age 55, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 4:48 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
She was born December 30, 1963 in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of Norman and Charlotte Foltz Wright. She married Gregg Allen Nash on April 21, 1989 in Quincy, Illinois and he preceded her in death on September 6, 1994.
Nancy worked as a data entry processor for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois for 19 years. She graduated from Unity High School in Mendon with the class of 1981 and had also attended Quincy College.
Nancy was a master gardener and was known as an animal lover who wanted to adopt every animal she saw. She also enjoyed painting ceramics, doing arts and crafts, shooting trap and skeet and was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include her best friend and companion, Greg Clayton, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois. Her parents Norman and Charlotte Wright of Lima, Illinois. Her maternal grandmother Martha Foltz of Fowler, Illinois. 2 children Cory Nash of Loves Park, Illinois and Sara Nash of Kahoka, Missouri. 1 step daughter Jessica Mowen (Adam) of Fishhook, Illinois. 1 sister Cindy Rigg (Mike) of Carthage, Illinois. 3 step grandchildren Elizabeth, Christian and Wyatt Mowen. 1 niece and her beloved puppies, Zippers and Hamlet.
She was preceded in death by 1 brother Mark Wright.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2019 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Rev. Steve Surratt officiating.
Burial will follow in the Morrelville Cemetery south of Mt. Sterling, Illinois.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Quincy Humane Society.
