Noah Branscum

Noah Wesley Branscum, age 84, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 2:14 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2018 at his residence.

He was born June 5, 1934 in Van Buren County, Arkansas the son of Otis Claude and Mary Viona Passmore Branscum.  He married Marjorie Hall on July 7, 1955 in Conway, Arkansas and she preceded him in death on October 7, 1992.  He later married Carole Rigg on June 26, 1998 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois and she preceded in him death on February 4, 1999.  Noah then married Amy Chapman on December 23, 2000 in Auburn, Washington and she survives.

Mr. Branscum worked for Dave Clinard Trucking for over 30 years.  He also owned and operated Robo Car Wash in Jacksonville, Illinois for 11 years. 

Noah graduated from Brown County High School with the class of 1953 and was a member of Morrellville Church in Brown County. 

Noah always enjoyed coon hunting and fishing with his son.  Recently, he found great joy helping his daughter with the children at her daycare and simply loved spending time with his family.

Survivors also include 3 children Deborah Davis (Kent) of Mt. Sterling, Illinois, Roger Dale Branscum (Kim) of Havana, Illinois and Kathy Mitchell of Mt. Sterling, Illinois.  4 grandchildren Brent and Trevor Davis and Courtney and Kiley Garfield.  3 great grandchildren Noah Lee Garfield, Kane Alexander Davis and Alayna Rose Davis.  9 step grandchildren.  1 brother Dorvil Branscum (Sheila) of Springfield, Illinois.  2 sisters Gena Bullard and Wilma Clinard both of Mt. Sterling also survive along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 great grandson Jase Steinkamp, 1 sister Ruby Trammell and 2 brothers J. C. Branscum and 1 in infancy. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2018 with Pastor Wayne Sutton officiating.

Burial will be in the Versailles West Side Cemetery.   

Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.
