He was born September 18, 1956 in Beardstown, Illinois the son of Gerald Duane and Mary Elizabeth Rigg.  He married Mary Kathleen Volk on November 5, 1976 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mt. Sterling and she survives.

Mr. Rigg graduated from Brown County High School with the class of 1975.

He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and the Knight of Columbus Council No. 1281 both in Mt. Sterling.

Randy worked as a service technician for Adams Electrical Cooperative for the last 27 years, where he took great pride in his work and never stopped trying to learn new skills.  Randy loved his fellow employees as if they were his own family and always appreciated his employers during his lifetime.  He was also a master plumber and had the distinction of being the youngest master plumber in the state of Illinois at the time he received his license.

Randy was a true nature lover and was known as an excellent marksman who enjoyed silhouette target shooting, hunting and fishing.  He was also a breeder of blue tick coon hounds.   In the last few years he was involved in a very serious car accident and in the process of his recovery he gained the ability to recognize miracles that happen every day and truly appreciated his life, including the many struggles.

Survivors include his wife Kathy Rigg of Mt. Sterling.  2 children Zachary Rigg (Jill) of Omaha, Nebraska and Abigail Van Gelder (Joshua) of Southlake, Texas.   4 grandchildren Derrick, Dorothy, Elizabeth and Jacob Rigg.  1 sister Lu Ann Kesselring (Randy) of Ashland, Illinois.  1 aunt Vivian Golliher of Mt.
