Robert Edward "Ed" Johnson Obituary

Robert Edward “Ed” Johnson, age 68, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois and formerly of Robinson, Illinois passed away at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Heritage Health, Therapy &Senior Care in Mt. Sterling.

He was born February 28, 1950 in Crawford County, Illinois the son of Herman Edward and Methel June Dunlap Johnson. 

Ed worked for the Jacksonville Development Center in Jacksonville and later worked for the Mental Health Center of Western Illinois in Mt. Sterling for several years.

He graduated from Robinson High School with the class of 1968.

Mr. Johnson served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

Ed was a true nature lover who always enjoyed hunting and fishing and was known to be an avid St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues fan.

Survivors include his fiancée Carolyn Pulse of Mt. Sterling.   3 children Brian Edward Johnson of Robinson, Illinois, Christina Grunden of Marengo, Indiana and Ronda Goldman of English, Indiana.

1 brother Dave Johnson (Martha) of Annapolis, Illinois.  2 sisters Doris Johnson of Effingham, Illinois and Susan McDaniel of Robinson, Illinois.  11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 daughter Shannon Brown.

Per his request cremation will be accorded and memorial services will be held at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice and may be left at the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling.
