Ron Parkinson

John Ronald “ Ron” Parkinson, age 72, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 1:08 a.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the Heritage Health, Therapy and Senior Care in Mt. Sterling.

He was born February 28, 1945 in Quincy, Illinois the son of John C. “Jack” and Zelma Bratton Parkinson.  He married Lisa Ann Rigg on December 31, 1992 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois and she survives.

Ron owned and operated Parkinson Sound Service for over 40 years.  He attended Brown County schools and was of the Christian Faith. 

Ron was known to be able to fix anything and was an excellent organist.

Survivors include his wife Lisa Parkinson of Mt. Sterling.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 in the Hersman Cemetery with Pastor Wayne Sutton officiating.

There will be no visitation.
