Ruth Hall

Mary Ruth Hall, age 94, a resident of Heritage Health, Springfield, Illinois and formerly of Versailles passed away at 11:05 p.m. Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the nursing home.

She was born May 30, 1923 in Scott County, Illinois the daughter of Roy and Josephine Davis Goff.  She married Franklin O. “Teen” Hall on November 25, 1943 in Versailles, Illinois and he preceded her in death on February 28, 2000. 

Mrs. Hall was a homemaker and a member of the Versailles Baptist Church.

Ruth enjoyed quilting and had made a special quilt for each of her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include 3 daughters Karen Walton of Chatham, Illinois, Patricia Garthaus (Raymond) of Industry, Illinois and Vicky Magro (Thomas) of Springfield, Illinois.  10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren also survive along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers and 4 sisters and a son-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Rev. Greg Hill officiating.

Burial will be in the Versailles West Side Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude  Children’s Research Hospital.
