Shirley Ann Bean, age 78, of Versailles, Illinois passed away at 6:51 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois. She was born January 9, 1941 in Brown County, Illinois the daughter of Marshall Earl and Frances Elizabeth Bradbury Edlin. She married Michael E. Bean on October 11, 1996 in Brown County, Illinois and he survives.
Shirley was a homemaker and had also worked as a hairdresser for several years.
She attended Brown County Schools and the Versailles Christian Church.
Shirley loved raising flowers and watching birds, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors also include 4 children Craig Edlin (companion, Teresa Kassing Logsdon) of Versailles, Kris Ann Rhoades (companion, Jason Link) of Versailles, Cammie Dunbar of Versailles, and Cory Dunbar (Katie) of Cooperstown. 5 grandchildren Austin Rhoades, Briley Edlin, Davin Hodge and Emma and Gabe Dunbar. 3 brothers Buddy Edlin of Mt. Sterling, Butch Edlin (Marianne) of Rushville and Bobby Edlin (Darlene) of Versailles also survives along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister Janet Thomas and 1 sister-in-law Joyce Edlin.
Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2019 in the Versailles Christian Church with Pastor Matt Haberman officiating.
There will be no visitation. Private interment of the cremated remains will be in the Cooperstown Cemetery.
