Amy Elizabeth Ormond Lucky, 51, of Mt. Sterling, died May 11, 2022 at the home of her parents following a brief illness.
Amy was born February 9, 1971 at St. Mary Hospital in Quincy to John and Carolyn Carroll Ormond then residing near Timewell. She married Mark Lipcaman on November 2, 1991 in Perry, IL, he survives. She married Shawn Lucky on May 24, 2003 in Mt. Sterling, he survives.
She is also survived by two children, Cassandra Paige (Cassie) Lipcaman of Macomb and Landon Zalton Lucky of Mt. Sterling; two sisters Katherine Ormond, Mt. Sterling and Sara Dawson Quincy; a brother Christopher (Elizabeth) Ormond Mt. Sterling; nieces, Josephine Cadwell, McKenna Ormond; nephews, Zachary Dawson, Carter Ormond; aunts, Rosanne (Jim) Ray, Elaine Schrieber, uncle Maurice (Karla) Ormond, numerous cousins, friends and her beloved pets, Ellie and Leo.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, William and Ruth Ormond; maternal grandparents, Robert and Maud Carroll; aunts Crystal Carroll Landess, Rita Carroll: uncles James R. Carroll and Marvin Schrieber; brother-in-law Brian Dawson.
Amy graduated from St. Mary Academy, Brown County High School, John Wood Community College, Quincy University with Bachelors degree in Social Work and began working on her Masters in the same field. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa.
She worked at Brown County Mental Health in various capacities, YMCA after school program, substitute teaching, and Dot Foods until 2012 when diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. After 10 years Amy was able to work again. She became a Buyer/ Partner with her mother at Ormonds on Main in Mt. Sterling. Amy considered this to be her dream job as shopping was one her hobbies along with collecting scarves, jewelry and shoes in great numbers. She loved to volunteer for community and school related activities. Amy was most happy spending time with her children and her family. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, Godmother… always ready to celebrate family.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 15 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling. The funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 16 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Father Aaron Kuhn officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Sterling Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are Brandon Ormond, Curtis Schrieber, Mark Schrieber, Rob Carroll, Jim Carroll and Toby Stay. Memorials in Amy’s honor, were suggested for Brown County Against Cancer, St. Mary School, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Cerebral Palsy Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or a charity of donors choice.
