Brenda Atwood

Brenda Lea Atwood, age 50, of Chambersburg, Illinois passed away at 7:35 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Mt. Sterling Health and Rehab Center. 

She was born December 17, 1973 in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of Gary Wayne and Edith Mae “Edie” Rigg Jobe.  She married Kevin Atwood and he survives. 

Brenda was a homemaker.  She graduated from Brown County High School and had attended Chambersburg Christian Church.  Brenda loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson. 

Survivors include her husband Kevin Atwood.  1 son Dakota Holder.  1 grandson Hunter Lee Holder.  1 sister Carrie Laning (Tim).   4 nieces Jennifer, Jessica, Tessa and Aubrie and 1 nephew Avery.  

She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother David Jobe.  

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling. 

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. 

The family requests casual attire to be worn at the services and also they wish to invite those attending to a dinner following the services at the American Legion Hall in Mt. Sterling. 

Cremation will be accorded following the services and burial of the cremated remains will be held at a later date on the family lot of the Hersman Cemetery. 

Memorials are suggested to the family to assist with the expenses.
