Dale "Pee Wee" Reische

Dale Rodney “Pee Wee” Reische, age 65, of Hersman, Illinois passed away at 2:27 a.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2022 on the family farm near Hersman.

He was born January 30, 1957 in Rushville, Illinois the son of Wayne Edgar and Virginia Maxine Kendrick Reische.  He married Kathy Louise Mudd on June 23, 1978 and to this union 2 daughters Kimberly and Michelle were born. 

Pee Wee was a lifelong Brown County farmer, and had also worked for Mt. Sterling Implement Company, Black Beauty Coal Company, Gully Transportation and Dot Foods.  

He graduated from Brown County High School with the class of 1975 and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling where he served as Deacon, the Hardin Lodge #44 A.F. & A.M., the Quincy Consistory, and served on the boards of the Mt. Sterling Township and the Hersman Cemetery.  Pee Wee also enjoyed helping solve the world's problems with his many friends at the round table of Renee’s Place. 

Survivors include 2 daughters Kimberly Kunkel (Chad) and Michelle Bedenbender (Mikel) all of Hersman, Illinois.  4 grandchildren Jacob Kunkel (Michaela), Mikel Bedenbender (Addie), Hailey Kunkel (Parker) and Lucas Kunkel (Malayna).  1 great granddaughter Oakleigh Kunkel.

1 sister-in-law Marilyn Reische also survives along with several nieces, nephews and his longtime friend and companion Ramona Swain. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister-in-law John, Denver and Donna Reische.  

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Pastor Daryl Vermillion and Pastor Jerry Edison officiating. Those unable to attend are invited to watch Pee Wee’s service live on his obituary page of the funeral home website, hendrickerfuneralhome.com.  

Burial will follow in the Hersman Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Hersman Cemetery, Blessing Foundation for Hospice or the Mt. Sterling First Baptist Church.
