Denver Lee Reische, age 74, of Hersman, Illinois passed away at 9:00 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
He was born January 3, 1948 in Quincy, Illinois the son of Wayne Edgar and Virginia Maxine Kendrick Reische. He married Donna Jean Blythe on February 29, 1968 at the First Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling and she survives.
Mr. Reische was a lifelong Brown County farmer, served as Mt. Sterling Township Road Commissioner for several years and was also a truck driver for both BiPetro and Black Beauty Coal Company. Earlier in life he owned and operated Reische Feed Service in Hersman.
Denver graduated from Brown County High School with the class of 1966.
Mr. Reische was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mt.Sterling and had also attended the Mt.Sterling Church of the Nazarene.
He was also a member of the Brown County Hunters Association and had served as president of the Hersman Cemetery Association for many years. Denver enjoyed hunting, fishing and visiting with his friends around the coffee table, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and he especially loved attending his grandsons many activities.
Survivors include his wife Donna Reische of Hersman. 1 son Tony Reische (Michelle) of Hersman. 2 grandsons Dalton and Dylan Reische both of Hersman. 1 brother Dale “Pee Wee” Reische of Hersman and 1 sister-in-law Marilyn Reische of Hersman also survives along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother John Reische, his father and mother-in-law Bud and Norma Blythe and 1 brother-in-law Perry Blythe.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2022 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Daryl Vermillion officiating. The family suggests that casual attire be worn for the services.
Burial will follow in the Hersman Cemetery in Hersman, Illinois.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of services on Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Hersman Cemetery Association or Brown County Little League.
