Donald Lee Mountain, age 82, of Perry, Illinois passed away at 12:55 a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2020 at Heritage Health, Therapy and Senior Care in Mt. Sterling, Illinois.
He was born November 26, 1937 in Quincy, Illinois the son of Doyle and Olive Wagner Mountain. He married Sharolyn “Sherry” Lee Vose on December 29, 1955 in Perry, Illinois and she preceded him in death on June 11, 2012. Don and his wife owned and operated Mountain Farmers Market in Perry for several years. He also worked for Gardner-Denver in Quincy , Kirks Structures in Perry, the Village of Perry and earlier in life was engaged in farming.
Don graduated from Liberty High School. He was a member of the Kingston Methodist Church and the Kingston Masonic Lodge. Don always enjoyed fishing and visiting with his friends at the round table.
Survivors include 3 children Craig Mountain (companion, Penny Hendricks), Tab Mountain and Penny Drake (John) all of Mt. Sterling, Illinois.
9 grandchildren Trent Mountain, Cami Weinkauf, Emilee Martin, Colton Ivey, Lacey Bradbury, Addysen and Darian Drake and Jacob and Matthew Hendricks. 9 great grandchildren Hunter and Gunner Bradbury, Major, Vance and Kestner Martin, Finey and Roman Weinkauf, Carson Bentz and Marley Hendricks also survives along with his friend and companion Frances Miller of Baylis, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter Gay Lynn Ivey and 1 sister Ruth Ann Happel.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 16, 2020 in the Wilson Cemetery in Perry, Illinois with Pastor Mark Dickerson officiating. A recording of the service will be available for viewing on Monday afternoon on the funeral home's website www.hendrickerfuneralhome.com.
There will be no visitation.
