Emma A. “Em” Blair, age 75, of Clayton, Illinois passed away at 3:41 a.m. Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

She was born December 29, 1946 in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of Harold F. and Evelyn A. Vaul Amen.  She married Robert S. “Bob” Blair, the love of her life, on November 2, 1963 in Quincy, Illinois and he preceded her in death on December 1, 2010.

In her earlier years, Em worked at Bessell Flower Shop, and she then owned and operated various businesses including Sunoco Service Station in Mt. Sterling, Em’s Flower Shop in Meredosia and lastly, The Curve Inn in Clayton, Illinois, which was the gathering place where friends became family.

Em had a passion for all animals and enjoyed being outdoors, especially gardening and growing her flowers.  She always loved to cook, bake and was simply known as someone who was always there to help when needed. Though Em was small in stature, she was mighty, and when she set her mind to doing something there was nothing she couldn’t accomplish.

Survivors include two daughters Amy Clark (Tim Buhlig) of Versailles and Melissa Blair of Clayton.  One sister Kay Tournear of Camp Point.   Her grandchildren Kyle Clark (Megan), Jess Clark, Levi Blair (Theresa), Brooke Blair (Nate) and Brittany Nave.  Great grandchildren Cayden, Ayden, Olivia Jo, Erica, Lily, Olivia, Max, Kingston, Dylan and Makayla also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sons Robert “Bobbie” and James “Jimmy” Blair and a great grandson Matthias Greer.
