July 17, 1948 ~ January 20, 2024 (age 75) 75 Years Old
Gary Allen Dupoy, age 75, of Rushville, Illinois passed away at 12:35 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
He was born July 17, 1948 in Beardstown, Illinois the son of Ernest Charles and Minnie Olive Stivers Dupoy.
Gary worked as a truck driver and earlier in life worked at Excel Corporation in Beardstown and as a meat cutter for several area grocery stores.
He attended Rushville schools.
Mr. Dupoy was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served his country in the United States Army.
Gary always enjoyed fishing and hunting and had the distinction of being the first person in Schuyler County to harvest a deer with a bow and arrow.
Survivors include 1 daughter Beth Glisson (Gibbs) of Pleasant Plains, Illinois. 1 brother Charles Dupoy (Judy) of Rushville, Illinois. 3 grandchildren Taylor, Dalton and Isabel also survive along with 1 niece and 2 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2024 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Pastor Bill Rucker officiating.
Burial will follow in the Rushville City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Schuyler County Humane Society.
