James Bradley

August 12, 1980 ~ March 31, 2023 (age 42) 42 Years Old

Obituary

James Aaron Bradley, age 42, of Timewell, Illinois passed away unexpectedly at 12:35 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2023 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

He was born August 12, 1980 in Quincy, Illinois the son of Brian Francis and Kathryn Joanne Orr Bradley.  He married Regina “Gina” Marie Bain on June 17, 2005 in Rome, Wisconsin and she survives.

He was a lifelong learner, graduating from Purpus Creek Academy and also attending John Wood Community College Ag Center in Perry, before graduating from Western Illinois University in Macomb with a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics.  James was a devoted man of God and member of The Crossing in Mt. Sterling.  He served on the Lee Township Board and had been a member of the John Wood Agriculture Alumni Association.

James was a 6th generation Brown County farmer.  He faithfully carried on the legacy of the generations of farmers before him and passed on this legacy to his children, sustained by his faith in God in every season.

James was a musician from his youth.  As a teen, he toured with his band, Fine Neighbors, forming relationships that lasted a lifetime.

James was a wonderful husband, father, and friend.  From the moment they exchanged rings in a beautiful lakeside ceremony, he spent each day in love with his Gina.  He invested himself totally in the lives of his children, devotedly sharing his love for farming and music and stewarding their future.  His friends felt the peace that his presence brought to any and every chaotic situation.  He was indispensable.

Survivors include his wife Gina Bradley of Timewell.  Two children Madeline “Maddie” Bradley and Maxwell Bradley both at home.  His mother, Kathy Bradley of Timewell.  His paternal grandmother, Bette Bradley of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  One brother Chris Bradley of Peoria, Illinois.  One sister Alicia (Keith) Kepley of Ingraham, Illinois also survives along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins.  James was also very close with his wife’s family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Brian Bradley, paternal grandfather Donald Bradley and maternal grandparents William and Rosemary Orr.
