Jeffrey Lee “Jeff” Parn, age 62, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 10:10 a.m. on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri.
He was born December 10, 1959 in Beardstown, Illinois the son of Richard Lee and Freda Ann McGlauchlen Parn. He married Pamela S. Reische on February 16, 1985 at the First Christian Church in Mt. Sterling and she survives.
Jeff worked as both a Correctional Officer Sergeant and a Stationary Engineer at the Western Illinois Correctional Center in Mt. Sterling for over 26 years and he was also engaged in farming and loved flipping houses.
Mr. Parn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Sterling. He was also a member of the Brown County Republican Party and served as an Elkhorn Township Trustee for over 20 years. Jeff coached his children’s little league teams, served as a leader for the Boy Scout Troop #11 and was a leader of the First Baptist Church Awana Club. He also enjoyed restoring antique tractors and always loved dancing with his wife.
Survivors include his wife Pam Parn of Mt. Sterling. 3 children Billy Parn, Jed Parn (Lynsey) and Alisa Horton (Winston) all of Mt. Sterling. 3 grandchildren Georgie and Richard Jeffrey “R.J.” Parn and Raylynn Horton. 1 sister Pamela A. Volk of Mt. Sterling also survives along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Sterling City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services on Tuesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Mt. Sterling.
