Jon Kallenbach

Jon Earle Kallenbach, age 67, of Versailles, Illinois passed away at 11:43 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

He was born September 1, 1956 in Pittsfield, Illinois the son of Donald Johnnie and Kathryn Yvonne Keith Kallenbach.  He married Patricia Ann Childers on September 10, 1978 in Versailles, Illinois and she survives.  

Jon worked at Ameren (CIPS) Power Plant in Meredosia for 35 years and was also engaged in farming. 

He graduated from Brown County High School with the class of 1974 and as a young man attended the Zion Lutheran Church in Brown County.  

Jon truly loved working on his farm and always enjoyed having a cup of coffee and solving the world's problems with his friends at the Perry Fast Stop. 

Survivors include his wife Patty Kallenbach of Versailles. Two sons Jason Kallenbach and Justin Kallenbach (Tammy) all of Versailles.  Two grandchildren Austin and Lexi Kallenbach.  Two sisters Sue DeRose (David) of Lake Villa, Illinois and Penny Hendricks (Craig Mountain) of Mt. Sterling.  Three nephews Adam DeRose, Jacob Hendricks (Emma) and Matthew Hendricks also survive along with one niece Brook Benson (Mike).  

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2023 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Pastor Tad Sorrells officiating.  Those unable to attend are invited to watch the service live on his obituary page of the funeral home website, hendrickerfuneralhome.com. 

Burial will follow in the Hebron Cemetery in Brown County. 

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home. 

Memorials are suggested to the Versailles Growth Committee or the Versailles Community Building.
