Kathleen Cramblit

Kathleen Ann Cramblit, age 75, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois and formerly of Beardstown, Illinois passed away at 9:28 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2023 at Mt. Sterling Health and Rehab Center.

She was born September 14, 1948 in Rushville, Illinois the daughter of William Clifford “Pitt” and Ramona Marie Bowen Schaeffer.  

Kathleen operated a child daycare in her home for over 30 years, both in Mt. Sterling and Beardstown.  

She graduated from Brown County High School and then attended Culver Stockton College in Canton, Missouri. 

Kathleen was of the Catholic faith and served as a volunteer for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program where she enjoyed helping many of the elderly residents of the community.  She also loved going to the library and especially liked reading mystery books.  

Survivors include one son Christopher Cramblit of Mt. Sterling.  Three grandchildren Aubree Cramblit and William Cramblit both of Beardstown, Illinois and Charlette Cramblit of Mt. Sterling also survives along with one great granddaughter Alice Kathleen.  

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2023 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Pastor Tad Sorrells officiating.  

Burial will follow in the Mt. Sterling Catholic Cemetery. 

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of the services on Friday at the funeral home. 

Memorials are suggested to the family.
