Laurie McDowell

Laurie Ann McDowell, age 54, of Mt.Sterling, Illinois passed away at 3:07 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at her residence.

She was born February 2, 1966 in Phoenix, Arizona the daughter of William G. and Donna McGeorge McDowell.  

Laurie graduated from Phoenix, Arizona schools and was of the Christian Faith.

She also worked in a thrift store in Beardstown, Illinois for several years. 

Laurie was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and always enjoyed coloring, making crafts, watching Disney movies, country music, animals and especially enjoyed traveling and going out to eat. 

Survivors include 1 brother William McDowell and 1 sister Donnell Jakobs both of Arizona.  1 niece and 2 nephews also survive along with her longtime friends who cared for her for the last 20 years, Lori and Janet WIlliams of Mt. Sterling, Illinois. 

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Cremation will be accorded and private services will be held at a later date. 

Memorials are suggested to Brown County Against Cancer and may be left at or mailed to the Hendricker Funeral Home, 406 South Capitol Avenue, Mt. Sterling, IL 62353.
