Lindsie Sergerson Cushman

Lindsie Marie Sergerson Cushman, age 39, of Salem, Illinois and formerly of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at her residence. 

She was born July 24, 1983 in Rushville, Illinois the daughter of James W. and Janet Roxanne Barnett Sergerson.  

Lindsie served as a night manager for several hotels in the Salem area and also worked as a bartender at the Salem  VFW.  

She graduated from Brown County High School with the class of 2001.  Lindsie enjoyed fishing and earlier in life liked bow hunting.  She truly loved her many dogs over the years, especially Rocky. 

Survivors include her parents Jim and Janet Sergerson of Mt. Sterling.  Her maternal grandparents Jim and Rosie Barnett of Mt. Sterling.  1 brother Cory Sergerson (Shari) of Ainsworth, Iowa.  1 niece Paige Sergerson.  1 nephew Tristin Sergerson.  1 great nephew Riker.  5 aunts and uncles Jeff Barnett, Jerri Ernest, Joe Barnett, Belma Carpenter and Eric Norton also survive along with several cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother Mary Norton, maternal grandmother Jean Barnett, 3 uncles Dean Ernest, Buddy Mundy and Mike Mundy.  

Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2023 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Pastor Jason Hamm officiating.  Those unable to attend are invited to watch Lindsie’s service live on her obituary page of the funeral home website, hendrickerfuneralhome.com. 

Burial of the cremated remains will follow in the Mt. Sterling City Cemetery. 

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. 

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the Brown County Animal Rescue.
