Lorayne Wagner

N. Lorayne Wagner, age 104, a resident of St. Vincent’s Home in Quincy, Illinois and formerly of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the nursing home.

She was born October 19, 1916 near Hersman, Illinois the daughter of Wilbern and Gladys Meats Hecox.  She married Clyde A. Wagner on January 14, 1936 in Jacksonville, Illinois and he preceded her in death on April 22, 1988.  

Mrs. Wagner was a homemaker and had also assisted her husband in the operation of the family farm.  

She attended Council School in Brown County.  

Mrs. Wagner was of the Christian faith and was baptized on October 15, 1950 at the Benville Union Church in Brown County by Rev. J. E. Corey.  

Earlier in life Lorayne enjoyed camping and snow birding in Texas, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Survivors include 2 daughters Shirley Keith of Warrensburg, Missouri and Pat Fusselman of Quincy, Illinois.  Grandchildren were Mike (Tina) Keith, Marcie (Larry) Johnson, Brian (Tammy) Keith, Brenda Woods, Kevin Fusselman, Kristi (Eric) Kearns, Michelle Walker, Sara (Andrew) Skinner,  Katryn Ingstad.  Great Grandchildren are Larry Johnson Jr, Melody Johnson, Monett (Ronald) Jenkins, Melissa Wolfe, Hannah Woods, Lorayna Woods, Chris (Heather) Keith, Carey (Doug) West, Donald Keith Clark, Jessica (Jabez) Loos, Ashley Kearns, Rylee Kearns, Danielle Carney, Jaidyn Walker, Lana Skinner, Audrey Skinner born 9/3/2021, and Koa Ingstad. Great, Great grandchildren are Amelia Johnson, Iris Johnson, Cy Smith, Novalie West, Abree West and Mason West. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Harlan Hecox, Duane Hecox, a son-CJ Wagner, a granddaughter in infancy-Cathy Fusselman and 2 sons in law, George Keith and Gene Fusselman.  

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 5, 2021 in the Hersman Cemetery with Rev. Steve Ingram officiating. 

There will be no visitation. 

Memorials are suggested to the Hersman Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to the Hendricker Funeral Home, 406 South Capitol Avenue, Mt. Sterling, Illinois 62353,
