Lynn Umphryes

Lynn Ann Umphryes, age 58, of Forsythe, Illinois and formerly of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 8:21 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois. 

She was born June 4, 1963 in Rushville, Illinois the daughter of Edgar Burton and Zelma Kaye Moore Umphryes.  Lynn attended Beardstown schools and the Rushville Nazarene Church. 

She always loved listening to music, especially country and gospel.  Lynn was known as a social butterfly who always enjoyed helping others. 

Survivors include her mother, Kaye Jones of Mt. Sterling.  2 brothers Vernon Umphryes of Rushville, Illinois and Matthew Umphyres of Skokie, Illinois.  1 sister Carolyn DeJaynes of Summer Hill, Illinois also survives along with several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her father and 1 brother Harlan Umphryes.  

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2022 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling, Illinois with Rev. Fred Fritz officiating. Friends and family may also view the funeral service live on the funeral home’s website hendrickerfuneralhome.com. 

Burial will follow in the Ripley Cemetery. 

Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
