Marcia Baughman

Marcia Darlene Baughman, age 79, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 7:24 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2020 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois. 

She was born December 23, 1940 in Pike County, Illinois the daughter of Leo Roy and Mary Genevieve Daniels Butler.  She married Ernest Alonzo Baughman on December 23, 1956 in Pittsfield, Illinois and he preceded her in death on June 2, 1992.  

Mrs. Baughman was a homemaker and had also worked at the Land of Lincoln Motel and Barnes Super Value both in Mt. Sterling. 

She attended Pike County schools and was of the Baptist faith.  Marcia enjoyed taking care of her houseplants and always loved watching birds, squirrels and deer.  

Survivors include 3 children Kevin Baughman of Mt. Sterling, Illinois, William Baughman of Palmer, Illinois and Mary Jo Baughman of Mt. Sterling, Illinois.  3 grandchildren Clint Newkirk, Jacob Baughman and Rebekah Baughman.  4 brothers Roger Butler (Carol) of Rockport, Illinois, Tracy Butler, Allen Butler and Gary Butler all of Pittsfield, Illinois.  1 sister Raymona Swearingian of Florida.  1 sister-in-law Janet Butler of Pittsfield, Illinois.  1 brother-in-law Phillip Frey of Nevada also survives along with several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister Bonnie Frey, 2 brothers Konrad and Murray Butler and 1 sister-in-law Vicki Butler.  

Private funeral services will be held for Marcia and private burial will follow in the Versailles West Side Cemetery. 

There will be no visitation. 

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Brown County Against Cancer and may be left at or mailed to the Hendricker Funeral Home, 406 South Capitol Avenue, Mt. Sterling, IL 62353.
