Marilyn Sue Elledge, age 75, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 5:17 a.m. Monday, December 7, 2020 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
She was born January 6, 1945 in Schuyler County, Illinois the daughter of Mark R. and Edna C. Reece Hess. She married Billie Lee “Bill” Elledge on February 16, 1963 in the Mt. Sterling First United Methodist Church and he preceded her in death on November 7, 1995.
Mrs. Elledge was a homemaker and had also worked as a reader's aid for over 15 years at Brown County Elementary School and in her summers had served as a home healthcare worker.
She attended Bethel Country School in Schuyler County, Illinois and graduated from Brown County High School with the class 1963.
Mrs. Elledge was a member of the Mt. Sterling First United Methodist Church and had also attended the Rushville United Methodist Church, the Chambersburg Christian Church and more recently the First Christian Church of Mt.Sterling.
Marilyn was proud of the fact that she was baptized in 1956.
She was a true nature lover and always enjoyed raising flowers.
Survivors include 3 children Mark T. Elledge (Kim) of Cibolo, Texas, Mitchell T. Elledge (Teri) of Timewell, Illinois and Kimberlee S. Heselbarth (Rob) of Algonquin, Illinois. 2 grandsons Billy Mitchell Elledge and Austin Hunter Elledge. 1 step granddaughter Sarah Vertrees. 3 step great grandchildren Logan, Ayden and Avery. Several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive along with her long time friend and companion, Carl Metz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 grandson Landon Chase Elledge and 2 brothers George L. Hess and Richard L. Hess.
We know that Marilyn deserves a beautiful tribute and understand that under normal circumstances many friends would love to attend. But sadly due to the current health situation and under the direction of the local health department, the services are to be conducted with only immediate family members in attendance.

Burial will follow in the Hume Cemetery near Chambersburg, Illinois.

There will be no visitation.
