Marilyn Esela Obituary

 

Marilyn Joan Esela, age 88, a resident of Sunset Home in Quincy, Illinois and formerly of Mt. Sterling, passed away at 5:58 a.m. on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the nursing home.

She was born March 17, 1932 in Brown County, Illinois the daughter of Walter and Ruth Lewis Lehne.  She married Carroll Eugene Lenover and he preceded her in death.  She later married William Richard Esela on December 2, 1962 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois and he survives. 

Mrs. Esela was a bookkeeper for Condee Gas Service in Mt. Sterling for several years.  She attended St. Mary's Academy in Mt. Sterling and was of the Catholic faith. 

Marilyn always enjoyed playing golf and gardening. 

Survivors include her husband William Esela of Quincy, Illinois.  1 son Ed Lenover (Nancy) of Versailles, Illinois.  1 brother Edward Lehne of Mt. Sterling, Illinois.  1 sister Ramona Lehne of Springfield, Illinois.  6 grandchildren and several great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son Ronald Eugene Lenover and 1 sister Virginia Hatten. 

Cremation will be accorded and a graveside services will be held at a later date in the Mt. Sterling Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice and may be left at or mailed to the Hendricker Funeral Home, 406 South Capitol Avenue, Mt. Sterling, IL 62353
