Marvin Ray Yoder, age 56, of Avon, Illinois passed away peacefully after an extended battle of health issues and several strokes. He died in Mexico at 7:50 a.m. (PDT) on Saturday, August 27, 2022. He was born in Stuarts Draft, VA on June 21, 1966 to Norman A. and Verna Yoder. On March 10 of 1988, he was united in marriage to Laura Eicher. They shared the joys and sorrows of life for 34 years, 5 months, and 17 days. He faithfully served as a minister at the Swan Lake Church. Leaving to mourn his departure are his wife Laura, and her children. Kenneth - 33, (Edna) of Clayton, IL. Darlene - 32, of Sebree, KY. Mary - 29, of Hillsboro, IN. Eldon - 24, (Darlene) of Avon, IL. Joanne - 31, Wayne - 27, Esther - 26, Kevin - 22, Eunice - 21, Nathanael - 19, Edith - 15, Joseph - 13, and Titus - 11, all of the home, and 6 grandchildren. Also Surviving are his mother, Verna Yoder, 11 siblings, father and mother-in-law, Levi and Leona Eicher, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death are his father, Norman A., his son Leonard Paul, one brother-in-law, one niece, one nephew, and one great-nephew.
Visitation will be on Saturday, September 3, from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Siloam Springs Amish Mennonite School in Clayton, IL. Funeral services will be on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at 10:00 in the morning at the Siloam Springs Amish Mennonite Church.
Burial will follow in the Siloam Springs Amish Mennonite Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Swan Lake Amish Mennonite Church in Avon, Illinois.
