Nettie Charlene Jackson, age 84, of Mt.Sterling, Illinois, passed away at 1:40 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the Heritage Health, Therapy and Senior Care in Mt. Sterling.
She was born September 13, 1938 in Baylis, Illinois the daughter of Arthur Lee and Faye Rosezetta Phillips Jobe. She married Richard Lee Jackson on March 12, 1958 at the Chambersburg Christian Church and he preceded her in death on May 7, 2019.
Mrs. Jackson was a parts salesperson for Buckley Auto Parts, Deer Ridge Auto Parts and Brown County Auto Parts for over 40 years.
She attended Chambersburg grade school and graduated from Meredosia Chambersburg High school with the class of 1957.
Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Chambersburg Christian Church and the Mt. Sterling Church of the Nazarene.
Nettie always enjoyed playing bingo, quilting, reading and sewing.
Survivors include 4 children, Donna Lerch of Jacksonville, Illinois, Andy Jackson of Jacksonville, Illinois, Mary Bingham of Redding, California and Donald Jackson of Versailles, Illinois. 2 brothers Earl and James. 2 sisters Betty and Kathy Sue. 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren also survive along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers Joe Dean and Gary and 1 great grandson in infancy.
Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Rev. Matt Haberman officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will follow in the Hersman Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.
