Nicholas Edward Jackson, Jr., age 66, of Jacksonville, Illinois and formerly of Versailles, Illinois, passed away at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Illinois.

He was born June 18, 1955 in Rushville, Illinois the son of Nicholas Edward, Sr. and Helen Hoag Jackson.  

Earlier in life, Nicholas worked for Tate Cheese in Valley City and then retired from Waste Management in Granite City, Illinois. 

He attended Brown County Schools.  Nicholas always enjoyed playing slot machines at the casino, but  his greatest joy was spending time with his family. 

Survivors include 4 children Eric Edward Jackson, Christina Marie Jackson, Michelle Nichole Jackson and Jeremy Jackson. 1 brother Jim Jackson (Sarah) of Versailles, Illinois.  3 sisters Norma Dyer (Richard) of Pittsfield, Illinois, Linda Baverstock (John) of Phoenix, Arizona and Irma Calhoun of Salinas, California. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. 

Cremation will be accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. 

Memorials are suggested to the family and may be left at or mailed to the Hendricker Funeral Home, 406 South Capitol Avenue, Mt. Sterling, IL 62353.
