Rosalie Ann Patton, age 84, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 1:29 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2023 at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, Illinois.
She was born October 27, 1938 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois the daughter of George Franklin and Ruth Zelma Stromquist Howard. She married Richard Allen “Dick” Patton on June 14, 1957 in the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Sterling and he survives.
Mrs. Patton was a homemaker and also served as the noon hour supervisor at South Grade School for several years.
She attended Mt Sterling schools and graduated from Brown County High School with the class of 1957.
Mrs. Patton was a member of the Mt. Sterling First United Methodist Church and also the Mt. Sterling American Legion Post #374 Auxiliary. Rosalie truly loved spending time with and taking care of her grandchildren.
Along with her husband she is also survived by five grandchildren, Jesse Patton (Brandi) of Macomb, Illinois, Kari Chin (Daniel) of Cortland, Illinois, Rachel O’Keefe (Korey) of Delavan, Illinois and Breyden and Liam Patton both of Mt. Sterling, Illinois. Eleven great grandchildren Cora, Caleb, Evelyn, Elianna and Christopher Chin, Isaiah, Andrew and Emily Patton and Jacob, Silas and Oliver O’Keefe. One brother James Howard (Donna) of Springfield, Illinois also survives along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her three sons Michael, Mark and Marty Patton and three brothers Arthur and Wendell Howard and one in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2023 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with her grandson, Jesse Patton officiating. Those unable to attend are invited to watch the service live on her obituary page of the funeral home website, hendrickerfuneralhome.com.
Burial will follow in the Mounds Cemetery near Timewell, Illinois.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.
