Stephen M. Perry, age 60, of Timewell, Illinois passed away at 5:41 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.
He was born September 15, 1961 in Quincy, Illinois the son of William Alvin “Steve” and Betty Vance Perry. He married Sherry Cross on August 22, 1980 in the Timewell Baptist Church and she survives.
Steve, along with his dad, owned and operated W. A. Perry & Son Elevator in Timewell for several years. He also owned and operated Perry Trucking Service and most recently served as Lee Township Road Commissioner.
Steve graduated from Brown County High School with the class of 1979 and was a member of the Timewell Baptist Church.
He always loved visiting with his friends, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Sherry Perry of Timewell. His mother Betty Perry of Timewell. 2 children Leslie Easley (Kelly) and Stephen Perry (Alison) all of Timewell. 5 grandchildren Kelsi Dupoy, Haylie and Holden Easley and Elsie and Lincoln Perry. 3 sisters Paula Hannant (John) of Timewell, Belinda Hovan (Michael) of Alsip, Illinois and Nancy Perry (Dr. Michael Gadson) of Mt. Sterling also survive along with his mother-in-law Jeanette Freitag of Mt. Sterling and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Rev. Dale Gadberry officiating.
Burial of the cremated remains will follow in the Mounds Cemetery near Timewell.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
The State of Illinois has mandated that those attending the services and visitation must wear a mask.
Memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s School.
