Tammy Henninger

Tammy Sue Henninger, age 58, a resident of the Mt.Sterling Health and Rehab Center and formerly of La Prairie, Illinois passed away at 8:42 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the nursing home.

She was born July 1, 1965 in Fort Belvoir, Virginia the daughter of Joseph Dale and Mary Ann Rigg Henninger.  

Tammy worked as an Licensed Practical Nurse for several area nursing homes mainly serving at Golden Good Shepherd in Golden, Illinois and Timber Point Healthcare in Camp Point, Illinois.  She graduated from Quincy High School with the class of 1983 and then received her licensed practical nurse degree from John Wood Community College in 1985. 

Tammy enjoyed collecting gnomes and truly loved the many dogs she raised over the years.  

Survivors include three siblings Dale Henninger (Sandra) of Quincy, Illinois, Cathy Sullivan (Tim) of Mt. Sterling, Illinois and Ann Kelley (Michael) of Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Three nieces Jordan Laub (Luke) of Plover, Wisconsin, Breanna Kelley (fiancee, Nick Lettecci) of Palatine, Illinois and Jennifer Henninger of Quincy, Illinois.  One nephew, James Henninger of Quincy, Illinois also survives along with several aunts, uncles and cousins and her beloved fur babies Bentley and Sadie. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother George Henninger and her grandparents Otis and Violet Rigg and Anthony and Pauline Henninger. 

Cremation will be accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.  

Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Sterling Health and Rehab Center Activity Fund and may be left at or mailed to the Hendricker Funeral Home, 406 South Capitol Avenue, Mt. Sterling, IL 62353.
