Zane A. Keylor, age 76, of Timewell, IL died September 19, 2022 at Heritage Health in Mt. Sterling.
Zane was born September 26, 1945 in Quincy, IL, the son of Russell (Clyde) and Evelyn (Long) Keylor. He married Dorothy Colgan on September 18, 1965 in Mt. Sterling, IL.
Zane was a 1963 graduate of Brown County High School and attended Timewell School. He was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Sterling and later attended the Mt. Sterling Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy of Timewell, IL; 3 children, Teresa (Mark) Koch of Quincy, IL, Katherine (Andy) Hazelrigg of Mt. Sterling, IL, Kevin (Kathi) Keylor of Timewell, IL; 6 grandchildren, Jerek (Kelsey) Jones, Marisa Koch , Annie (Michael) Scoggan, Ryan (McKenzie) Koch, Kenzie Blentlinger and MaKenna Keylor; 5 great grandchildren, Kinah Shoopman, Harper Hazelrigg, Mason Ford, Knox Jones and Bennett Koch; 4 siblings, Pam (James) Wegs, Sandra Fluent, Daryl (Kathy) Keylor and Twila Keylor;along with 3 step grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Brenda (surviving husband,Robert) Wilson, a nephew David Colgan, a niece Tammy Reinold and brothers- in- law Robert Fluent and Raymond Colgan and his longtime fishing buddy, John Holder.
Zane was a driver for Dot Foods as the 10th of the original drivers of the company. He retired in 2005 having attained over 3 million miles throughout the continental United States. Upon retirement he truly enjoyed running his longarm quilting machine. Zane was a longtime member of the Lincoln Land Woodturners Club and was well known for his turned bowls, Christmas ornaments and other beautiful work from many species of wood. He was also an avid fisherman having spent as much time as he could fishing for crappie. His and Dorothy’s annual fish fries were attended and enjoyed by many. Most of all, he immensely enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, September 23 at Hendricker Funeral Home with Pastor Dixie Koch and Pastor Robert Willis officiating. Those unable to attend are invited to watch Zane’s service live on his obituary page of the funeral home website, hendrickerfuneralhome.com.
Burial will follow in Mounds Cemetery in Timewell, IL.
