Jean Ann Jamison, age 58, of Beardstown, Illinois passed away at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
She was born February 11, 1958 in Springfield, Illinois the daughter of Albert Henry and L. Jean Painter Poggemiller. She married David Michael Jamison in 1980 in Springfield, Illinois and he survives.
Mrs. Jamison was a Board Certified Family Nurse Practioner with Quincy Medical Group in Mt. Sterling, Illinois for over 8 years after starting her nursing career in 1977.
She graduated from Springfield High School with the class of 1976, Capitol Area Vocational Center in 1977, MacMurry College in Jacksonville, Illinois in 2000 and St. Louis University in 2005 with a masters degree in nursing.
Jean was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Beardstown, Illinois. She was also a member of the National Parish Nurses Association, the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the Illinois Nurses Association. She had also served as a hospice volunteer and a CPR instructor.
Survivors include her husband David Jamison of Beardstown. Her mother L. Jean Poggemiller of Springfield, Illinois. 1 brother Randy Poggemiller of Springfield, Illinois. 2 sisters Sue Bivens (Jeff) of Springfield, Illinois and Shirley Wilson (Ben) of Edwardsville, Illinois. Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive along with her beloved dog Lucy Lynn.
She was preceded in death by her father and her twin sister Joan Bivens.
Per Jean’s request cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Rev. Brian Kenney officiating.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. For those who are unable to attend the services in Mt. Sterling a celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016 in the First Southern Baptist Church in Beardstown, with a meal to follow.
Memorials are suggested to the Cass County Food Pantry of the charity of the donor’s choice.
